During Your Root Canal
Once full anesthesia is achieved, the treatment will be completed in one or two appointments, depending on the health of the pulpal tissue. If your tooth was severely infected, we may choose to place a medication in your canals for one or two weeks before completing the root canal to effectively decontaminate the area. A temporary filling will be used between treatments to keep the area sterile. The height of the tooth is reduced so that the new tooth does not interfere with the bite.
